It holds 9.2 on Booking from more than 1,600 reviews and 4.5 on Google from more than 4,300, and unlike many Mamaia hotels it stays open all year.
About the place
The building went up as Hotel București, one of the first two high-rise hotels in Mamaia, from the late 1950s, together with Hotel Parc. Gheorghe Hagi took it over in 1999, renovated it and reopened it on 4 July 2001 as the four-star Iaki. It has 122 rooms and apartments, from standard doubles with or without a sea view to executive apartments and two presidential apartments.
The hotel is about 20 metres from the beach. The outdoor pools were renovated in 2024 and are heated from May to September, depending on the outside temperature. The spa holds 4.8 on Google from more than 650 reviews. Autumn and winter packages run until November and December 2026, so the hotel works after the season too.
Good to know
- Ask for a sea-view room: only some of the standard doubles face the sea.
- The outdoor pools are heated only from May to September; the rest of the year there is the spa.
- Off-season the hotel runs autumn and weekend packages; you find them on its website under special offers.
